In this blog (aka SUMMER SKIN GUIDE!), I’ll share with you the essential ways to help you achieve, and keep, that healthy glow all season long. From exfoliation to hydration, body care to lip and lash care, and the importance of SPF: we’ve got you covered for all your summer skin needs.
During the summer, your skin is exposed to increased heat, humidity and UV radiation. Hey, all we can do is protect and defend!
SPF is more important now than ever, and be sure to choose one that’s natural!
Follow these tips to maintain your natural glow.
Exfoliation
Regular exfoliation is crucial to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, allowing your skin to breathe. It also enhances the absorption of other skincare products, maximizing their effectiveness.

Part 2: Healthy and Hydrated
Hydrating your skin is vital in the summer months to combat dryness caused by sun exposure and air conditioning. Opt for lightweight, water-based moisturizers that provide intense hydration without feeling heavy or greasy.
I am loving this Glow Recipe Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream that has a light weight, water gel feel to it. It gives me just the right amount of hydration without feeling heavy.
The Glow Recipe Guava Vitamin C Bright- Eye Gel Cream is great for hydrating around the eyes and diminishing fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. Def. a great texture for summer, too!

Treatment and hydration shouldn’t just be for the face! Make sure you’re giving your body some love after the beautiful days in the sun. Opt for products that include Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and other hydrating and soothing agents.
BODY GLOW
Kate Somerville Dry Skin Saver: can be used on face and body to instantly quench dry skin instantly. This is one I like to keep in my beach bag.
Maely’s Body Care Review: I have no idea how I didn’t know about these products long before: but these are AMAZING for tightening, smoothing and firming the skin for summer! I’ve been using the B-Flat Firming Belly Cream and the B-Tight Lift and Firm Buttocks Mask.
Pacifica Vegan Collagen Recovery Body Butter: great to use on dry elbows, ashy knees and dry spots. Has a very light, hardly detectible fragrance and feels like complete BUTTER going on your bod!
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum: the hair needs hydration too and I find that this hydrating hair serum (even just a half a pump!) does the trick daily to keep my locks shiny and happy.

Part 3: Lips & Lashes
Don't neglect your lips and lashes! They require special attention to stay healthy and youthful. The more we brush our skin, exfoliate etc.: the more beautifully our skin and hair come back in. That’s why I exfoliate and hydrate my lips every evening and brush my lashes with a serum treatment once daily.
LIP PROTECTION
The delicate skin on your lips is prone to dryness and sun damage. Apply a lip balm with SPF regularly to protect them from harmful UV rays. Opt for formulations with nourishing ingredients like shea butter or jojoba oil. Also important but not always thought about is lip exfoliation through a lip sugar scrub. These are two of my favorites!
LASH NOURISHMENT
Super important!!! You can skip the false lashes and grow long, full lashes on your own if you treat your brows and lashes right. I use these products day and night to maintain my beauty routine (see my live Amazon video shoppable for more details and technique)…
Part 4: SPF - Your Skin's Best Friend
Sun protection is the cornerstone of any effective summer skincare routine. Follow these SPF guidelines:
Broad Spectrum SPF: Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Look for a minimum SPF 30 and apply it generously to all exposed areas of your body.
Mineral Sunscreens: Opt for mineral sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as they provide effective sun protection without harmful chemicals. These ingredients form a physical barrier that reflects UV rays away from the skin.
